We spend approximately 40 hours of a week in our office chairs. Apart these 40 hours in the office, many more hours are spent seated while eating meals, driving, watching TV or using technology. And, due to this, you might be suffering from a disease called sitting disease. This term is recently coined by the scientific community. This term is used for the ill-effects and metabolic syndrome caused due to the sedentary lifestyle. Till now, this is just a term that is not recognized by the medical community. Increasing Activity at Work
Here is how you can keep sitting disease at bay: 

        Walk while you talk on the phone.
        Get up at least once after sitting for an hour.
        Use a pedometer for increasing daily number of steps.
        Avoid elevator and take stairs.    
        Stand and stretch back.
        Having a walking meeting.
